Jennifer Boman is a Faculty Development Consultant in the Academic Development Centre at Mount Royal University where she works with faculty members on topics related to assessment and teaching development. Her research interests include faculty development, the design and evaluation of programs to improve teaching effectiveness, and the impact of teaching behaviours on student motivation and learning. She has her PhD in Educational Psychology from Western University.
Miriam Carey has been seconded to the Academic Development Centre from the Faculty of Arts at Mount Royal University. Miriam’s disciplinary background is political science and since moving into the centre she has been working in the areas of curriculum, personal and professional development and the scholarship of teaching and learning. She is particularly interested in intentionality and integration, critical reading, and scaffolding original undergraduate research.
Rod Corbett is a Faculty Development Consultant specializing in learning technologies in the Academic Development Centre at Mount Royal University. Rod has been working in the field of adult education for over 25 years in the roles of learner, instructor, technical support and instructional designer. Rod completed the Master of Distance Education degree from Athabasca University entirely online. Rod teaches part-time for both the Bissett School of Business and the Continuing Education departments at MRU.
Michelle Yeo is an educational developer in the Academic Development Centre at Mount Royal University, specializing in the area of curriculum. She has a Ph.D in Language and Literacy (Curriculum Studies) from the University of Victoria. Prior to her position at Mount Royal, she taught in teacher education programs and enjoys teaching in the Department of Education and Schooling when she has the opportunity. Current interests include new faculty experience, assessment, and mentorship.
